"We Sell Fantasy"
The following panel discussion which was captured on August 16, 2012. It was taken from the 2012 Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference and titled Federal Courts, Federal Law and Professional Sports: Emerging Trends in Antitrust, Labor and Intellectual Property. Sounds boring, I know. But below this video I mark a couple of significant times within the 80 minute long session as well as a couple of exchanges between the panelists, and believe me, this is compelling information.
At 13:08, Former Legal Chief Council and current President and Chief Operating Officer of MLB, Robert A. Dupuy, Esq. states: "We sell fantasy. We don’t sell reality. And we have grown men and women in costumes playing for millions of dollars, and more importantly enthralling tens of millions of people. And furthermore, we sell competition. Our teams and our athletes have to be bitter, bitter rivals and competitors on the field of play, but they’ve got to be partners off the field of play. And we need rules. We sell uncertainty of outcome, and so we need rules, both playing rules and frankly, we need economic rules."
DeMaurice Smith, current chief of the NFL Players' Union, then adds: "Isn’t the reality that it’s a business when owners want it to be a business and it’s a sport when they want it to be a sport and for a fan it’s—and I agree with you—it’s a fantasy."
At 26:48, the two have a similar exchange, as Smith states: "They sell fantasy; we work on the field." Dupuy quickly adds: "And if we didn’t sell fantasy, you wouldn’t work on the field."
At 35:18, the talk turns to the need of “competitive balance” and to keep people watching. This prompts Smith to ask, "So we’ve made all these exceptions to make fans happy?" Answering him is Alan Ostfield, former president and CEO of the Detroit Pistons and Tampa Bay Lightning, who replies: "It’s the foundation of our business."
Lastly, at 1:02:40, the moderator brings up the issue of the leagues' personal conduct policy & commissioner powers. He specifically asks Smith why the union didn't fight against including such provisions within the players' collective bargaining agreement with the NFL. Watch how Smith dances around answering, and how another panelist, Charles Grantham (former executive director of the NBA Players' Union) answers by saying that players would rather make more money than concern themselves with personal conduct.
Sports scandals 100% proof that professional sports is fixed
For decades, professional wrestling enjoyed the legitimacy of being thought of as a real sport. But that all changed when the CEO of professional wrestling admitted his sport was "somewhat fake" in 1989.
These days, all professional and amateur sports are under the same cloud. There are too many coincidental bad calls against certain teams at crucial times during games.
Ask anyone if they think sports are rigged and just about everyone says, "I could see that."
The reality is sports is fixed – 100%. It has been rigged since the beginning of time.
The good news is one brave soul had the guts to go against big-time corporate forces to connect the dots and prove that professional (and amateur) sports isn't as it seems.

JEW MOB BOSS ARNOLD ROTHSTEIN RIGS 1919 WORLD SERIES
THE BLACK SOX SCANDAL was the sports crime of the 20th century. In a complicated and poorly conceived and executed conspiracy, several prominent Chicago White Sox ballplayers teamed up with gamblers to lose the 1919 World Series to the Cincinnati Reds. No sports scandal has similarly shocked America or had such a lasting impact on its culture. Journalists, novelists, poets, playwrights, historians, and filmmakers have all reconstructed the affair and put it to various uses. You can hear echoes of it in Bernard Malamud's The Natural; witness Joe Jackson's resurrection in W. P. Kinsella's Shoeless Joe, the novel on which Phil Alden Robinson's film Field of Dreams is based; and contemplate the scandal's complex morality in John Sayles's Eight Men Out, the movie adaptation of Eliot Asinof's popular history. Douglass Wallop, best known for his novel The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant, described the scandal as "a labyrinth, an incredible maze of doublecrosses upon doublecrosses, of broken promises, of guileless stupidity among the players, of artful, cruel deceit among those who manipulated them—gamblers, baseball executives, and public officials alike."
Of those artfully deceitful manipulators, Arnold Rothstein was the most skillful, a criminal kingpin who had his hand in all manner of illicit endeavors. Known as "the Big Bankroll" and "the Great Brain," Rothstein helped invent organized crime, and his influence survived his death in 1928. Meyer Lansky, himself a mythic American gangster and an architect of modern organized crime, was a Rothstein protégé. Lansky was the inspiration for Hyman Roth in The Godfather, Part II, the Jewish gangster who explains to Michael Corleone, "I loved baseball ever since Rothstein fixed the World Series in 1919."
Despite his diverse misdeeds, Arnold Rothstein's legacy remains tied to the Black Sox scandal, as David Pietrusza describes in the recently published Rothstein: The Life, Times, and Murder of the Criminal Genius Who Fixed the 1919 World Series. This is true even though Rothstein was not indicted by the Cook County grand jury that investigated the affair in 1920. Rothstein once said, "I wasn't in on it, wouldn't have gone into it under any circumstances, and didn't bet a cent on the Series after I found out what was underway." So he claimed. An earlier Rothstein biographer, Leo Katcher, put these comments in proper perspective: "No one really believed in his innocence, only in his cleverness.
The Black Sox Scandal took place during the play of the 1919 World Series. The Chicago White Sox lost the series to the Cincinnati Reds, and eight White Sox players were later accused of intentionally losing games in exchange for money from gamblers. The players were acquitted in court.

Proof Fertitta Family is 100 yr. old Mafia Family (not just ties)
Lorenzo Fertitta — Frank Fertitta III — Frank Fertitta II (father) — Fertitta’s Grandfather –Fertitta’s Uncles — Fertitta’s Cousins — Frank “Lefty The Jew” Rosenthal (subject of movie Casino at the Freemont hotel/casino who worked for Fertitta’s dad there) — Sam Maceo — Rosario Maceo — Palermo Sicily (home of the Mafia)
Frank & Lorenzo’s family includes Sam & Rosario Maceo.Salvatore Maceo, also known as Sam Maceo, and Rosario Maceo were businessman, community leaders, and organized crime bosses in Galveston, Texas in the United States. Because of his efforts Galveston Island became a nationally known resort town during the early and mid 20th century, a period known as Galveston’s Open Era. They who rose from humble beginnings to become prominent in Galveston’s notorious nightlife scene in the mid-1900s before branching out to Las Vegas, Nevada. He and his brother, both Sicilian immigrants, owned numerous restaurant and casino venues including the now-vanished Hollywood Dinner Club and the Balinese Room. Sometimes known as the “Velvet Glove,” Sam’s smooth style and ability to influence people were legendary. He was able to wield influence comparable to an elected official and he held relationships with celebrities and politicians throughout Texas and the United States. During his lifetime he and his island home were known nationwide. The culture and economy Sam & Rosario’s Maceo/Fertitta crime syndicate helped create on the island engendered the nickname “Free State of Galveston.” They were also involved in the development of the Las Vegas Strip during the late 1940s, particularly the establishment of the Desert Inn.The Fertitta family and the Maceo family considered each other kin because of the marriage of Joseph Frances Fertitta to Sam’s sister Olivia Maceo. The Fertittas became involved in the Maceo businesses due to this relationship.Frank Fertitta II, Frank & Lorenzo’s father was founder & former chairman of Station Casinos. Federal investigations linked him to a mob money-skimming operation in 1985 when he was caught on an FBI wire tap stating so, though he was never charged or sanctioned.Nonetheless, Missouri gaming officials in 1992 refused to issue a gambling permit to Station unless the company guaranteed Fertitta would have no part in its management, according to published reports. This is when Frank III took over the business reigns from his father. Both Frank III & Lorenzo were working for the family business during the time that their father was caught on FBI wire-taps implicating himself in the illegal skimmimg operation at the Freemont Hotel/Casino working together with known organized crime members. The FBI wire-tap transcripts were released to the media. This caused a lot of controversy in Las Vegas and the media there reported closely on it.It was well known by longtime Las Vegas residents that the Fertitta family was involved in organized crime. It would have been hard to keep this away from the students at Bishop Gorman High School where the Fertitta brothers attended and met Dana White. There is little chance this wasn’t public knowledge there too.Tilman J. Fertitta (Lorenzo & Frank’s 1st cousin)

Rigged FIFA final draw
Watch as FIFA secretary General Jérôme Valcke swaps country names out of sight with his left hand:
Rigged baseball calls
The hand's-down, worst blown call in the history of professional sports:
In case you missed it, the batter pops the ball foul...
The left fielder tries to catch it in the stands...
The ump is in PERFECT position to witness the catch, but completely blows the call...
The ball is CLEARLY dropped, picked up by a spectator - even held up high for all to see...
Yet the umpire ignores this and calls the batter out - never even checking to see if the outfielder has the ball.
To add insult, the same ump ejects one of the players for simply questioning the call.
This is IN YOUR FACE rigging.
And it happens every single day - worldwide, too.
